Hello! My name is Laurie, and I have been exploring the world of deodorants since 2009. This is a personal blog created and written by me, and I’m not paid to recommend anything by anyone. I only write about deodorants that I’ve been using myself (and sometimes about the stuff I’ve bought for my husband or kids).
Why am I so passionate about this topic? If you’re wondering what qualification I have for writing about deodorants, the answer is short: none. I just think that they can improve people’s lives, so I’m serious about it.
Why I write about deodorants
The point is that I was one of those smelly kids at school, and my life was sad. I was suffering from hyperhidrosis and strong body odor, so other kids were making some cruel comments. I wasn’t isolated or completely friendless, but I know from experience that being smelly does have some social repercussions.
The saddest part is that at the time people couldn’t go to the store and pick up an antiperspirant that would be effective for their sensitive skin. The antiperspirant and deodorant market wasn’t the same as now: the variety of products appeared much later, but when it did, everybody was happy.
Now I’m a happy wife and mother of two kids who are always on the move. And, of course, all of us want to stay fresh all day, so we try different products to find the most effective solution. But brands sometimes change the formulas of their products, so we have to re-evaluate our choices. So I would love to share with you some of my personal observations, find answers, solve problems, get inspired together.
Shopping for deodorants can be frustrating, I know, I’ve been there. You might even start to think that you won’t find a product that works. Some people are opting for medical treatment to prevent sweat disasters, but Botox injections are painful. So I prefer to use different sorts of deodorants and to share with you all the useful information I have.
What is important
Some people don’t use deodorants because they have sensitive skin; for example, my husband gets rashes from additives included in common antiperspirants. So I can give you advice about choosing natural deodorants or products created for people with allergic skin — we have tested them to find advantages and disadvantages.
I invite you to discover new products and to learn new things about how our bodies work, so you could determine the cause of your sweating or body odor. I hope my advice will be helpful to you!
